Esme is back with another ceramics workshop! This time it’s a free build hanging design that will be tied together to create a beautiful handmade piece of art. You can create multiple pieces that coordinate in some way and will be attached with rope. Get those creative juices flowing and be thinking about the design you want to make! As always, Esme will provide the clay, the tools, silicone mold options, glazes and all the instructions to create a piece of ceramic art. With the holidays coming up, don’t forget about the option to create a special gift!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
While participants will fully complete the design and glazing of their art piece during the class, Esme will then take all the pieces to her studio and let them dry to the right stage so they can be fired in the kiln. Finished art will be available for pick-up at The Art Space Studio approximately 2–4 weeks after the class, depending on weather conditions and kiln scheduling. So you will not get your art piece back until the end of October or so.
This class is open to ages 12 and up and does not require any prior pottery experience.
About the Instructor
Esmeralda Cardenas is a full-time Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Willow Path Collective, specializing in pregnancy and postpartum mental health; and a part-time potter who loves bringing people together through creativity. Pottery has become a meaningful way for her to create space for connection, reflection, and joy.
She is a mother to two teenage boys and a wife to her spouse of nearly 17 years. Outside of the studio, she enjoys caring for her plants, reading on her Kindle, listening to audiobooks, music, and spending time in nature.
Pottery found her four years ago, and she has been in love with it ever since. Creating functional pieces that are meant to be used, lived with, and enjoyed is one of her greatest joys, and she is grateful to share that experience with others through these workshops.
