This flexible, four-week creative writing workshop is designed for full-series participants and single-session drop-ins! Attend all four classes to build, refine, and polish a complete short story from scratch—or drop into individual stand-alone sessions to focus on specific elements of craft:
Class 1 — The Inciting Incident & Driving Want: Build a high-stakes character and opening scene.
Class 2 — Stepping Into the Scene: Master vivid, necessary description using gallery-inspired textures.
Class 3 — Rising Tension & Subtext: Craft sharp dialogue and push your story to its turning point.
Class 4 — The Red Ink Workshop: Apply a professional line-editing diagnostic pass to polish your prose.

Joseph Baiza-Vigil is an experienced writer, literature instructor, and professional line editor with over five years of copyediting experience. Using a color-coded diagnostic pass, you’ll catch passive verbs, filter phrases, and weak adverbs to transform your draft into punchy, evocative text.
